    My L2 Rocket

Posted by Cory A on 28th May 2025

My 4th and largest DX-3. This one flew great on I-285R shakedown flight. Then I used this for my successful L2 cert flight on a J-270W. Then the next day, flew it again on an I-366R for another great flight. I did add a switch band, which makes it an inch longer. I also put significant weight in the nosecone to ensure stability with larger motors. I plan to fly this a lot.

    SDX3 at LDRS-39

Posted by Dan Griffing on 3rd Apr 2022

My Mad Cow SDX3 had its two first launches at the LDRS-39 on the Bonneville Salt Flats. The first launch was with a Loki J300-LR to 3,400 feet and the second launch was with an Aerotech DMS K535W to 4,500 feet. Since then, I've had three successful launches of My SDX3 here in Montana. October: Loki J300-LR 3.300 feet, November: Loki K527-LR 6,500 feet, March: Loki J525-LW 3,030 feet. This was my first fiberglass rocket kit and I was completely pleased by its construction and performance.

    Lvl 1 and 2

Posted by Tim on 10th May 2018

Did my Lvl 1 easy using an I500-14 DMS with this rocket and an adapter. Flies beautifully on it. Doing lvl 2 the DMS J270-14 happens to have the same size and mass to allow for single set up for the center of gravity. Flies great but feel free to boost the ejection charge on these with disposable motors a bit. Had mine come in from 5500 on a K535 that didn't have enough ejection charge to open her up. Kind of a short rocket for it's power range and dia but still tons of fun.
