My new favorite rocket

I just flew my new 3" DX3 for the first time on a J415W, and the flight was awesome. I have traditionally tended to fly old-school phenolic and vulcanized rockets and was skeptical about the extra weight of fiberglass. But I spent a lot of time repairing damage and decided to try this fiberglass DX3. The kit quality was excellent, but I didn't really expect it to perform as well as my same-sized phenolic rocket that is about 30% lighter. I was wrong! The kit is so aerodynamically clean and efficient that it flies like crazy. It topped my most optimistic sims and equalled the performance of the lighter rocket. And it is very durable and came back from the flight in perfect condition ready to fly again. I'll be flying this a lot! Thanks for a great kit.

The 3" thin wall is great, I am super happy with this kit. Unfortunantly I was a bit late getting the motor retainer, so if you decide to buy this kit, get recovery and retainer. All in all, a great rocket to put together and everyone at Madcow are great people. Thank's to you. Especially Michael, since I was an hour late to add to my order he offered to pay. Now that in my opinion is great service as well as great product.

PLEASE NOTE: this is an unpainted rocket. The tubing included in this kit is semi-transparent red and a black nose cone. In order to finish the rocket like the one in the photo, you will need to add a painted finish.
This kit is made to order will not ship immediately.
This rocket uses the RA54L2 Aeropack Retainer. (Please note that older version of this rocket may use a different retainer).
